METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING COAST SIGNAL FOR PROCESSING IMAGES

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for generating a coast signal for processing images are provided to easily generate a correct coast signal using a main controller without employing a separate hardware. CONSTITUTION: A coast signal is enabled(18) during the first period starting from transition of the level of a vertical synchronous signal to the next transition of the level of the vertical synchronous signal. The coast signal is enabled when the cycle of a horizontal synchronous signal is not a predetermined value during the second period corresponding to the period other than the first period in the unit cycle of the vertical synchronous signal. The phase of a sampling clock signal generated when the coast signal is enabled is identical to the phase of a sampling clock signal generated when the coast signal is disabled. The first period corresponds to the vertical blanking interval.
