PURPOSE: An error correcting circuit for a PID in a DVD RAM is provided to process flags for determining whether error correction result is correct and outputs for the error correction result in 1 code word section, thereby reducing the correction time by 1/3. CONSTITUTION: An error correcting circuit for a PID in a DVD RAM includes a syndrome generating part(300) for generating syndromes inserting a root of a generator polinomial of an input signal including initial PID information and error information, an error position discrimination part(200) for detecting an error position value, an error correcting part(400) for generating an error-corrected result value by XOR logic of received information corresponding to the detected error position and the syndrome, and an error flag generating part(500) for determining whether there are two errors from the error-corrected information by an adder.
