PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting cooking vessel of induction heating type cooker is provided to accurately detect when the cooking vessel is removed or out of a normal position. CONSTITUTION: A cooking vessel detecting part(200) includes a pair of voltage dividing resistors(R1,R2) dividing voltage impressed to a working coil(WC); a diode(210) rectifying alternating current voltage divided by the voltage dividing resistors to pass only voltage component of positive cycle; a protective resistor(220) installed to protect the diode; and a comparator(CP) comparing voltage inputted to an inverting terminal with reference voltage(Vref) inputted to a non-inverting terminal to output corresponding signal. A plurality of resistors(R3,R4,R5) and a Zenor diode(ZD) are installed to the non-inverting terminal of the comparator to stabilize voltage(+Vcc1), to protect the comparator against surge voltage and to set the reference voltage. A resistor(R6) is installed to an output terminal of the comparator to prevent short circuit. A capacitor(C3) is installed to a terminal of the comparator to which the working voltage of working voltage of the comparator.
