PURPOSE: To relax the change gear shock resulting from a change gear motion, and improve the responsiveness for a change gear demand, especially the change gear demand in a manual change gear mode, in the change gear control device of the automatic transmission capable of both of a change gear motion in an automatic change gear mode and the change gear motion in a manual gear change mode. CONSTITUTION: The change gear control device of the automatic transmission is capable of the change gear control by both of the change gear motion with the automatic change gear mode, for selecting a moderate change gear ratio corresponding to the change gear demand based on an acceleration opening and a vehicle speed, and the change gear motion with the manual change gear mode for selecting the change gear ratio corresponds to the change gear demand with a driver's manual operation. Re-change gear prohibiting times, different in the automatic change gear mode and the manual change gear mode respectively, is set in the device. The re-change gear prohibiting times for prohibiting the change gear motion based on the following change gear demand for a predetermined time after inputting the change gear demand. |
