PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify assembling work and stabilize trip operation characteristics by wedging an opening/closing mechanism part incorporated in a circuit breaker case and a temperature compensating bimetal assembly unit in a fixed position by a spacer pressed in between a case side wall and the assembly unit without using a screw. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker is formed by installing the opening/closing mechanism part 4 of a main circuit contact, a thermal type trip device 6, and the temperature compensating bimetal 9 serving also as a trip lever, mounting an assembly unit 8, which associates a bimetal holder 10 of the temperature compensating bimetal and an adjusting dial 12 on a unit holder 11, on the opening/closing mechanism part, and incorporating in the circuit breaker case 1. The spacer 14 is pressed in between the assembly unit 8 and the case side wall, the opening/closing mechanism part and the temperature compensating bimetal assembly unit are wedged in the case, a shaft part upper end 10a-1 of the bimetal holder is held by a holder bearing part 14b formed on a top part of the spacer, and simultaneously the unit holder is pressed by a stopper part 14d.
