PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quadrature phase modulator that can convert a modulation signal into a high frequency even with a low power consumption while improving modulation signal quality. SOLUTION: A double up-conversion modulator contains a first conversion stage (1) and a second conversion stage (2). The first conversion stage, consisting of two modulation units (101, 102), receives four phase baseband signals and modulates them using four phase carrier signals at the first intermediate frequency (IF1) to provide converted signals at the first intermediate frequency (IF1C, IF1C- b). The second conversion stage (2) receives the up-converted signals and converts them with mutually antiphase carrier signals at a second intermediate frequency (IF2) to output a higher frequency signal (HF- M).
