PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of improving the accuracy of detecting the density of a toner pattern. SOLUTION: The image forming device detects the density of a toner pattern formed on an intermediate transfer body 1 and controls the maximum density and half-tone density of the image. Also, the image forming device is provided with a mark detecting means 2 for detecting equally-spaced marks on the intermediate transfer body 1, a reading means 3 for constantly reading reflected light when light is emitted to the intermediate transfer body, a toner pattern forming means 5 for forming a toner pattern, and a determining means 4 for determining whether a toner pattern is present or not, and a computing means 6 for computing the output of the reading means. According to the result of the determining means 4, the density of the toner pattern is obtained by the computing means 6 based upon the consecutive outputs of the reading means 3. |
