PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide charger to charge a chargable cell housed in a device, which charger has portability and convenience at use, and is additionally designed to enhance safeness. SOLUTION: A charger body 1 equipped with; a stand 3 on which the device is put; a swingable portion 4 which protrudes outward from the stand 3 and is secured, swingably centered on the base end of the swingable portion 4 in the vertical plane, to a shaft mounted the stand 3; and an AC plug 5 having connecting terminals 11 which are, swingably in the vertical plane, secured to a shaft on the front end of the swingable portion 4, and protrude parallelly to the vertical plane. An extension cord 2 has on one end thereof connecting terminals and a plug receptacle 6. The front end of the plug receptacle 6 contains such a pair of projecting parts that the connecting terminals 11 and the connecting terminals of the extension cord 2 are permitted to connect, only when the protruding direction of the connecting terminals 11 to the swingable potion 4 and that of the swingable portion 4 to the stand 3 are nearly the same.
