METHOD FOR COMPUTER SYSTEM CONFIGURATION IN HETEROGENEOUS EXECUTION ENVIRONMENT AND PROGRAM FOR LETTING THE SYSTEM IN THE ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the insertion of an unnecessary instruction by improving ROM efficiency for implementing a common code while effectively using the system of an existent instruction set when an error code is returned to an application program executed in different execution environment of a computer system. SOLUTION: A common error code to be returned from an execution environment difference absorbing program to an execution program corresponding to the application program is determined as a value within a numeric range which can be set with an instruction set of a CPU and a defined immediate load instruction, and the common error code is held in an instruction code of the immediate load instruction. In particular the value of the common error code is put in such a range that the MSB of the setting part of the immediate load instruction is 0.
