PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the double insertion of recording media. SOLUTION: In the disk device 10, in conjunction with the lowering of a holder 40 to a recording medium loading position, the horizontal part 162c of the recording medium double insertion preventing member 162 of a recording medium double insertion preventing mechanism 160 is rotated to a position for preventing the opening operations of door members 131, 132. Thus, the opening inside of the door members 131, 132 for opening/closing the insertion port 133 oppositely to the horizontal part 162c of the recording medium double insertion preventing member 162 is prevented, and held in a shut-off state where the insertion port 133 is closed. Therefore, even when another disk cartridge 13 is inserted into the insertion port 133 in a state where a recording medium is loaded in the device, the door members 131, 132 are allowed to abut on the horizontal part 162c of the recording medium double insertion preventing member 162 to be prevented from opening inside, whereby the double insertion of the disk cartridges 13 is prevented.
