PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium in which records are stored for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium contains nonlinear optical materials, which change the optical characteristics in a magnetic field formed between one of a pair of electric charges generated by irradiation with light and the other of the electric charges held, in a base material having electric charge-generating ability which generates a pair of electric charges of different polarity, electric charge-transporting ability which transports one of a pair of electric charges concerned and electric charge-trapping ability which holds the transported electric charge. The nonlinear optical materials are compounds having asymmetric carbon and cyclic group which is monocyclic or condensed ring(s) in them. |
