PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device having a function of informing of remaining time, which is capable of accurately calculating the time remaining until completion of an image forming operation and to provide a method of calculating the remaining time. SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 has a state managing means 110, which stores, in a storage means 111, data about time required for various basic operations for image formation and, after the determination of image forming conditions, calculates, based upon the data of the storage means 111, remaining time T required to complete the image forming operation, and informs of the remaining time T. The time required for the basic operations includes printing time A in one side/double-side mode for every transfer paper sizes and/or processing time E for a set of a plurality of sheets of documents for every post-processing content. |
