PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote selling system and method for merchandise, which permits a customer to purchase merchandise while viewing an image of the merchandise in real time from a terminal, and can eliminate need for the installation of a number of cameras in a shop. SOLUTION: A communication server 1 for seller with an in-shop traveling robot 2 mounted with a Web camera 2a wire- or wireless-connected, and a communication terminal 3 for purchaser having an operation means 3c are connected to each other through a communication network L. A communication server 1, if the transmission of the real time image of the on-display merchandise which the Web camera 2a picks up is requested from the communication terminal 3, merchandise guide information data including the real-time image is transmitted to be displayed by the communication terminal 3. The communication terminal 3, when the image of the specific merchandise is selected from the displayed real time images using the operation means 3c, the order information data of the merchandise is generated and is transmitted to the communication server 1. |
