PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the storage capacity of image data. SOLUTION: Interference image data and diffraction image data obtained by picking up an image of a glass base used for a liquid crystal display by an image fetching part 1 are displayed on the screen of a display 14 for displaying the image. An image area including a defective part of the image displayed on the screen of the display is extracted by an image processing part 16 to store in an image server 13 as a reference image file 18b. The stored reference image file 18b is synthesized with a reference image file 18a to display the obtained file on the screen of the display 14 for displaying the image.
