PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helical antenna that does not become complicated in shape nor larger in size as a whole while the disturbance of its radiation pattern is suppressed. SOLUTION: This helical antenna is provided with an antenna element 1 which radiates radio waves in different directions, a substrate 2 which supports the rear end face 1b of the element 1 and has an insulating layer 2b on a conductor 2a connected to a ground potential, and a feeding circuit which is provided on the insulating layer 2b of the substrate 2 and feeds electricity to the antenna element 1. This antenna is also provided with wave absorbers 4 which are arranged at a prescribed distance from the substrate 2 in front of the substrate 2 and absorb radio waves radiated backward from the antenna element 1.
