PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric filter which can be kept superior in balance characteristics through a wide frequency band, a dielectric filter, and a communication device equipped with them. SOLUTION: An inner conductor-deposited hole with an inner conductor deposited on its inner wall is provided to the one side of a dielectric block 1 so as to reach the other opposed side of the block 1, both the ends of the inner conductor of the inner conductor-deposited hole and their vicinities are kept open, electrostatically coupled balance-type input/output terminals 7 and 8 and an external conductor 3 are formed near the open end of the inner conductor on the external surface of the dielectric block 1, a metal cover 10 is provided so as to cover the one opening face of the inner conductor-deposited hole of the dielectric body 1, and the metal cover 10 is made to act as a short- circuit conductor in a sprious mode such as a TE mode other than a TEM mode, so that the influence of a sprious mode can be eliminated.
