PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sheet carrying defect accompanied by forgetting to remove the remains like fragments of sheets by effectively avoiding the situation that the remains remain in a drawer unit due to a failure of jam processing procedures. SOLUTION: With respect to a sheet carrying device, a joint carrying line 3 which a plurality of carrying lines 1 and 2 join is provided, and an image transfer part for transferring an image from an imaging unit 4 to a sheet is arranged in the down stream of the joint carrying line 3, and a prescribed number of pairs of carrying rolls 5 are arranged in each of carrying lines 1 to 3, and a part including at least a sheet carrying line to the image transfer part from the pair of carrying rolls 5a just after the entrance of the joint carrying line 3 is constituted as a drawer unit 7 which can be pulled out from an image forming apparatus main body 6, and at least one of carrying lines 1 and 2 reaching the joint carrying line 3 connects to the image forming apparatus main body 6 side, and the pair of carrying rolls 5a placed just after the entrance of the joint carrying line 3 in the drawer unit 7 are so arranged that they can freely come into contact with and be separated from each other. |
