PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the state of a device connected to a network, without troubles, even if more than one administration manager is provided. SOLUTION: The IP address of a printer 6 whose state is to be monitored and a management table 14, to which state monitor information in which the kinds of states to be watched are associated with a notification destination of trap information is registered, are provided. A Trap Proxy 12 registers the state monitor information, designated in the request mentioned below to the management table 14, in response to the request for registration from an application 10 via an SNMP manager 8 and also deletes the state monitor information designated in the request mentioned below from the management table 14, in response to the request for deletion from the application 10. Then, when the trap information is sent from the printer 6, the Trap Proxy 12 sends the trap information to the corresponding application 10, while referring to the management table 14. |
