PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell which can appropriately respond to a flooding phenomenon and a drying phenomenon. SOLUTION: When a moisture content of MEA34 tends to decrease for an oxidation gas, the gas flow at a path-cutting portion 35 is allowed due to a contracted absorbent resin arranged at the path-cutting portion 35, and a velocity and a flow rate of the oxidation gas passing through a single cell 20 are partly reduced, by which moisture taken out from MEA34 by the oxidation gas is controlled, and an extra reduction of the moisture content can be curbed spontaneously. When the moisture content of MEA34 tends to increase, the gas flow at the path-cutting portion 35 is obstructed due to the swelled absorbent resin arranged at the path-cutting portion 35, and the velocity and the flow rate of the oxidation gas passing through the single cell 20 increases, by which the moisture taken out from MEA34 by the oxidation gas increases, and spontaneous generation of condensate which is a resistance against the gas flow can be prevented spontaneously. |
