PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of a sheet metal base while securing the rigidity of the sheet metal base which contributes to improvement of the quality of an image formed by an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A first sheet metal base member 1 and a second sheet metal base member 2 are combined to constitute a sheet metal base 10. The sheet metal base members 1 and 2 are fastened to each other into one-body parts by screws, rivets, welding, caulking, an adhesive, or the like. A fastening part 4 of the sheet metal base members 1 and 2 has the sheet metal base member 1 side made into a flange part 1a and has the sheet metal base member 2 side made into a recessed groove part 2a, and the aperture in the upper part of the recessed groove part 2a is closed with the flange part 1a to constitute a pipe shape having an approximately rectangular section, thus securing the rigidity. The aperture of the fastening part 4 which is the boundary between the sheet metal base members 1 and 2 is bent into an arc not so as to reduce the strength in a specific direction. |
