PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system in which the lowering of the performance of a fuel cell system caused by poison of CO is prevented while cost suppressed without the system complexed. SOLUTION: The system comprises a reformer (30) that reforms a starting gas to form a fuel gas, and a fuel cell (10) that has a hydrogen electrode and an oxygen electrode. Power is generated by supplying the fuel gas to the hydrogen electrode and an oxygen containing gas to the oxygen electrode. The flow direction of the fuel gas for a cell electrode is reversed at each start of an operation and the part of the cell electrode that is less in poison of CO is selectively used as the entrance side of the fuel. |
