PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar stepping motor and an electronic clock using it, in which an accidental rotation in a rotor hardly occurs, even if it receives disturbances. SOLUTION: In the bipolar stepping motor 10 of an electric clock 1 a rotor 60, made by a permanent magnet in the bipolar stepping motor of the electric clock be moved in shaft directions C1, C2, a tabular soft magnetic material 40 of an almost U-shaped state is installed close to one principal plane 20a of a magnetic pole part 21a1, 21b1 in the magnetic pole part 21a1, 21b1 which have a rotor acceptance hole 27 in a stator 20 and end faces 46, 47 in edges 44, 45 of a U is formed in the almost similar shape with periphery plane in the rotor acceptance hole 27.
