PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring apparatus, capable of preventing deterioration in efficiency of a management operation and a fault restoring operation by avoiding useless notification to a manager. SOLUTION: A manager is notified of states as a fault that an operation detecting section 8 determines that a fault restoring operation is not conducted by an operator, that a cover opening/closing detecting section 5 detects that an openable portion of a case shifts from a opening state to a closed state, and that the section 8 is now detecting a fault state, even though a timer 6 is counting a prescribed time. Accordingly, if an apparatus re-notifies a fault in the case of a fault which is not restored by one-time restoring operation, useless notification to the manager can be prevented, thereby preventing deterioration in efficiency of the restoring operation.
