The inventive device is of the type that comprises rotor temperature-indication means (1) and means of regulating the excitation current of the rotor according to the temperature indicated. Said device is characterised in that the rotor temperature-indication means comprise the resistor of the rotor field winding (FD). The invention is suitable for motor vehicle alternators.
