PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video reproducing device for enabling a user to easily recognize the type of a special reproduction operation that currently operates. SOLUTION: When a fast-forward (rewinding) reproduction operation at a low reproduction speed is performed, the luminance of an image to be reproduced is made slightly higher than that of a normal reproduction operation, and when a fast-forward (rewinding) reproduction operation at a higher reproduction speed is performed, the luminance of an image to be reproduced is made still higher. As the reproduction speed of a slow fast-forward (rewinding) reproduction operation becomes faster, the step period of a beep tone to be generated is made shorter.
