PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable monitoring the degree of reception quality degradation without affecting the reception line system. SOLUTION: In a reception apparatus, broadcast waves received at a reception antenna (21) are amplified by a low noise amplifier (22), are converted to baseband signals by a frequency converter (23), and are orthogonally demodulated by an orthogonal demodulator (24). Then, they are error-corrected and decoded by an error correction decoding device (25), and are converted to the original broadcast data by a decoder (26). When the original broadcast data is reproduced and displayed by a view monitor (27) in a reception margin monitoring apparatus, reception signals are taken out from the input stage of the error correction decoding device (25), directly decoded by a decoder (31) without conducting error correction, and reproduced and displayed by a monitoring monitor (32). Since reception signals prior to the error correction processing are decoded, reception signals degraded in transmission lines can be displayed on the monitor as they are. At this time, the reception line system is not affected at all.
