PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed switch corresponding to surface mounting, capable of changing the height of a reed terminal according to a mounting substrate, reducing manufacturing cost, and facilitating a small amount of production, trial manufacture, and automatic mounting. SOLUTION: This reed switch is formed such that two reed pieces 1, 1 in which a contact and a cantilever spring are formed at the end part in the length direction, made of a columnar magnetic material are sealed and fixed to the both end surfaces of straight glass tube so that the contacts are faced through the specified minute space, and mounting terminals 4, 4 are installed.
