PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the constitution of a driving device for an optical disk divided into a plurality of zones, and further to simplify the control operation for the access to the desired recording part of the optical disk. SOLUTION: The optical disk driving device is constituted in such a manner that integer pieces of sectors are arranged in one physical track and the whole recording area is composed of logical tracks consisting of the fixed number of tracks, and the number of remaining sectors after the logical tracks are secured is set so that the logical tracks do not stride over borders of the zones, and which logical track each sector belongs to can be specified by specifying a track address recorded on a header area of each sector. Then, this device is provided with a means for obtaining the logical track address corresponding to the linear logical address number and the sector address by obtaining an integer quotient and surplus when the linear logical address number is divided by the number of sectors per logical track.
