The gearbox comprises a primary shaft (AP) and an output shaft (AS) mounted parallel to each other in the gearbox casing (C). Several pairs of meshing pinions change the forward gear ratios. A reverse gear shaft (Aar) is parallel to the primary and output shafts. Certain pinions (1a-3a) are fixed on a coaxial hollow shaft (AC) rotating freely relative to the output shaft. The hollow shaft comprises at one end a ring dogging mechanism (E3) allowing the dogging of the hollow shaft either to the output shaft or to a pinion (36) rotating freely on the output shaft.
