摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, in detecting rotor positions in the conventional wide-angle energization (the width of energization being in the range of 120 degrees to less than 180 degrees), it is required to carry out constant monitoring of the absolute values of the induced voltage during a non- energized period, necessitating prior execution of A/D conversion processing during non-energized periods, thus causing a microcomputer to have less amount of time for conducting other processings. SOLUTION: It is arranged so that the A/D conversion for detecting absolute values of induced voltage is caused to start, after the ending of the duration of circulating current, and that the duration of the AD conversion process is shortened. When the current is long duration for circulating current, control of narrowing the width of energization is executed, so that the period during which the detecting of rotor positions can be done becomes long, enabling stabilization of rotor position detection.
