PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat absorbers (heat accumulators) which can be manufactured at low cost making effective use of zinc sediment and IZC generated at disposal of a scrap dry battery, and which display high absorption in a wide wavelength region with superior weatherability and endurance. SOLUTION: Powdery zinc sediment or a re-roasted material (IZ calcine) provided by roasting the zinc sediment at 70-950 deg.C is thermally sprayed to a surface of a base material of metal, ceramics or an organic material to form a film. Alternatively, the film may be produced by forming under pressure the powdery zinc sediment or the IZ calcine into a predetermined shape and then by sintering.
