PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient DCT processing regardless of an image of rhomboidal arrangement. SOLUTION: A G color image where pixels are arrayed in rhomboid is turned counterclockwise by 45 deg.. The turned G color image is divided into blocks obtained by multiplying 8 pixels by 8 pixels to be subjected to DCT processing. A pixel where image data does not exist in a block is interpolated and is subjected to DCT processing. Pixels in rhomboidal array become pixels in square array by turning the pixels counterclockwise by 45 deg. to enhance the correlation between pixels adjacent to each other. Accordingly, efficient DC processing can be performed. |
