PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrode materials which are capable of realizing low power consumption and prolonging the service life by reducing discharge start voltages, and also provide a plasma display using it. SOLUTION: In this plasma display panel, a first substrate, on which a plurality of pairs formed of pair of a first electrode and a second electrode disposed in strip form are formed and the pairs with one pair of electrodes are coated with dielectric, and a second substrate, on which a third electrodes are disposed in strip form, are arranged facing each other by disposing barrier ribs between the substrates. Here, the dielectric layer is shown by a composition formula AlNX, where X is at least one kind chosen from among the group of Si, Sn, Pb, Be, Mg, Ca, O, and S.
