PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document inputting and managing device capable of performing document management corresponding to a network by batch managing document identification information. SOLUTION: A printer or an information processor 20 such as a computer connected with the printer asks a document management server 10 to allocate the document identification information of a document name when printing a symbol including the document identification information. Since the number of pages is known in the case of printing, the number of the pages is also included and sent to the document management server 10, which registers the document name and the number of pages in a table on the document management server 10 and allocates numbers. The document management server 10 answers this number allocation to a client 20 having requested the allocation of this number. In the case of setting a first page and a second page of the allocated document identification information respectively to be 0001 and 0002, the client 20 encodes identification information obtained by adding coordinate information to this to a symbol and prints this to be a document.
