PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounter and a mounting method in which the accuracy of mounting position of a component and the suction rate thereof are enhanced by eliminating the rattling (lateral deflection) of a nozzle in a nozzle projection mechanism. SOLUTION: A nozzle unit 60 is provided with a nozzle restriction mechanism for pressing a nozzle 35 projecting from a nozzle unit 60 in the direction perpendicular to the axis thereof in order to eliminate rattling of the nozzle by operating the nozzle restriction mechanism at the time of sucking, recognizing the attitude, or mounting a component 11. Restriction of the nozzle 35 is released when the nozzle 35 rotates (spin) in order to correct the angle of the sucked component 11, for example. The nozzle restriction mechanism may be constructed to clamp the nozzle 35 from the opposite sides in the axial direction by means of a pair of nozzle retainers 61, or to press the nozzle 35 in one direction of a guide hole 56 by means of one nozzle retainer 61. In the latter case, a nozzle lock bar 72 for sustaining the nozzle 35 in contained state may be provided with that function. |
