PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to excellently suppress a false color and prevent colors other than the false color from being suppressed. SOLUTION: In the case of applying false color suppression processing to a color signal generated by applying color interpolation processing to a color signal obtained by photographing an object with an imaging section having a single CCD solid-state imaging element provided with a plurality of color filters, the imaging device extracts a high frequency component of a luminance component from a target color signal, detects a hue of the target color signal, detects a hue to a peripheral signal of the target color signal, and controls the false color suppression processing according to a difference between the hue of the target color signal and the hue of the peripheral signal and the high frequency component when the detected hue is within a prescribed hue region and the extracted high frequency component resides in the high frequency region.
