PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective member constituted so that the occurrence of foreign matter can be prevented at handling, and the positional deviation of a sheet-like thermally developable photosensitive material can be prevented when the photosensitive material is loaded into an image forming apparatus, and to provide a sheet-like thermally developable material package using the protective member and to provide a method for manufacturing the sheet-like thermally developable photosensitive material package. SOLUTION: As for the tray type protecting member made of thermoplastic resin, and provided with a rectangular base plate for piling the sheet-like thermally developable photosensitive material and side walls obtained by folding the peripheral edge parts of the base plate, the side walls of the protecting member are arranged on the peripheral edge parts of the base plate in a shape the corner parts of the base plate are removed by partly folding the peripheral edge parts of the base plate.
