PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable image forming device having a transfer belt, in which reliability in the transmitting/receiving of data to/from an image forming device main body is improved in order to store information about the characteristic of a transfer belt into the information medium provided in a transfer belt unit. SOLUTION: In the image forming device for forming images by an electrophotographic system or electrostatic recording system, which has the transfer belt, a non-contact information medium for transmitting and receiving data by electromagnetic waves is disposed in a unit composing the transfer belt. The non-contact information medium stores information about characteristics relating to the transfer belt. The non-contact information medium is provided with a control means that has a means for transmitting/receiving data to/from the non-contact information medium, detecting by transmitting/ receiving data to/from the non-contact information medium the attached state of the unit composing the transfer belt, and exerting control according to the information of the non-contact information medium. |
