The first plank (1) in the multi-layer panel (3) is sawn from its two opposing short sides (7). A first plank with a rectangular cross-section is bonded to another two planks on its opposing length sides (8) and then the panel is sawn parallel to these length sides along the middle plane (10) of the first plank. Independent claims are also included for (a) a saw machine for carrying out this method, comprising at least two spaced apart saws lying in essentially the same sawing plane which is designed to be coincidental with the first plank middle plane during sawing, as well as a displacement system for moving the saws and first plank relative to each other and (b) a floor section made using the above method.
