<p>Disclosed is a method for preparing a substantially pure mixture of cyclododecanediol isomers. The method involves a distillation step at a temperature between 150° C and 230° C. The isomers include 1,4-cyclododecanediol, 1,5-cyclododecanediol, and 1,6-cyclododecanediol. Also disclosed is a method for using a substantially pure mixture of cyclododecanediol isomers, which include the preparation of diamines; esters; diesters, such as diacetates and diacrylates; bis-phenol cyclododecane; and cyclododecanediol-based polyester polymers and polyester polyols.</p> |
