IR spectrum recording method using Fourier-transform spectrometer with read-out of array detector for alternate points along displacement path during each displacement of interferometer reflector

The spectrum recording method has light provided by a light source (12) fed to an interferometer (16), directed onto a sample (24) and detected via an array detector (28). A movable reflector (22) of the interferometer is displaced over a given path (S), with read-out of the array detector at a defined number of points (S1,..Sn) along this path. The reflector is moved along the displacement path at least twice, with read-out of alternate defined points during each displacement. An Independent claim for a Fourier-transform spectrometer for recording an IR spectrum is also included.
