PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent hair discoloration-preventing agent composition preventing the discoloration of the dyed hair, maintaining the effects by preventing the base from being washed out even when washing the hair, and capable of imparting smoothness, pliability, dry feeling and well-arranged feeling to the hair. SOLUTION: This hair discoloration-preventing agent composition contains 0.001-10 mass% hydroxycarboxylic acids having two or more hydroxy groups in the molecule, and having <=5 mass% solubility in ethyl alcohol, and is characterized in that a film is formed when the aqueous solution is cast on a glass plate, and dried at room temperature, and the obtained film has <=6B pencil hardness.
