PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle uniformly distributing warm air from a heater unit to foot parts on the driver's seat side and the front passenger's seat side and reducing noise of a blower fan. SOLUTION: This air conditioner 10 for the vehicle is constituted by disposing the heater unit 2 at the center inside an instrument panel 1 of the vehicle, providing a blower fan 3 inside the heater unit 2, and providing both side faces of the heater unit 2 positioned lower than the blower fan 3, with blast ports 6 for distributing warm air to the foot parts on the driver's seat side 5a and front passenger's seat side 5b. In this case, the blast ports 6 are provided with a lateral pair of heater ducts 9 extending in the cross direction of the vehicle, and the lower opening of the instrument panel 1 is shielded with the heater ducts 9. The warm air can thereby be uniformly distributed to the front seat foot parts 5a, 5b from above, and noise in a cabin can be reduced.
