PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jamb of an elevator excellent in strength and rigidity and capable of efficiently carrying out assembly work without causing distortion on a surface. SOLUTION: A surface member 31 to constitute the jamb and reinforcing members 32, 34 mounted on a back surface of the surface member 31 and to reinforce this surface member 31 are connected to each other by using a double sided adhesive tape. As no volumetric contraction due to dryness as an adhesive is caused on the double-sided tape, no shrinkage occurs and the distortion is never caused on the surface of the surface member 31. Additionally, it is not necessary to wait for drying as the adhesive on the double-sided adhesive tape, it is possible to efficiently carry out the assembly work of the jamb. Furthermore, the distortion due to heating and cooling never occurs on the surface member as in the case of using welding, and accordingly, spattering caused by the welding never damages the surface of the surface member 31.
