A system is provided for the integration of freight transportation from the producers work site (14) to the freight carrie (16), including any intermediate carriers using carriers adapted for carrying motor vehicles. The system allows a producer to load a module (12) at the work site (14), move the module (12) directly from the work site (14) to a vehicle carrier (16) for a return trip, which it would normally make empty, carrying general freight. The present system adapts vehicle carriers (16) for carrying general freight by utilizing a portable module (12) that is carried by the vehicle carrier (16) in substantially the same way as a vehicle to carry general freight. |
