The air-cooled turbine blade (1) has a cover band component (3) at its point (2) and extending vertically to the blade longitudinal axis. The cover band component is provided with at least one through bore (6) for cooling air. At the input side, the bore is connected with at least one cooling air channel (10) running through the turbine blade. At the output side, the bore issues into the outer space surrounding the turbine blade. This outer space is limited by a housing wall (7). A valve (8) is located in the cooling air bore, which opens dependent upon the temperature of the surrounding outer space. The valve is a bi-metal strip, which is fitted on two sides. It can be fitted at a throttle position in the cooling air bore.
