The flare fitting assembly (70) has a conically flared seating surface disposed within the through bore of a coupling portion adapted to engage the outer surface of the flared end (33) of a tube (30). A line seal is formed between the inner surface of the flared end of the tube (30) and arcuate seating surface (22) when the two coupling portions are cooperatively coupled. The arcuate seating surface is disposed within the through bore of one coupling portion (62). The two coupling portions are connected together, such the one coupling portion (62) has a through bore for receiving and retaining a tube (28) while the other coupling portion has a through bore adapted to be disposed upon another tube (30) with outwardly flared end.
