PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a second elastic member interlocking with a side guide regulating a side face of a paper sheet having a large width in a device provided with the second elastic member for a paper sheet having a large size to press a paper sheet stored in a paper feeding cassette toward a paper feeding roller. SOLUTION: A bottom plate 30 of the paper feeding cassette is provided with two kinds of energizing members, namely, a first elastic member 32 and the second elastic member 33, and a rib 58 for pushing up provided on an arm 53 operates the second elastic member 33 when moving the side guide 51 to a position where the paper sheet having the large width is regulated. When pressing and regulating the side guide 51 for the paper sheet having the large width, a plate spring 34 is pressed against the bottom plate 30 by engaging with a lower face of a holder 35 and swinging centered on a hinge 36 by the travel of the side guide 51 to assist a force for pushing up the paper sheet.
