t is disclosed a lock assembly for sliding doors and windows. The strike plate section 2 of said lock assembly comprises, at least, two surfaces abutting the internal walls 25 of the sliding section 20, which leads to the conveyance of any violent force applied on the walls 25 for unlocking the lock assembly -when this last is in the locking position- and, consequently, to the conversion of same force into multiplied levered resistance against forcing, without conveyance of the force to the operational mechanism 30 of the lock assembly and the latch bolt section 1 which comprises a plurality of elements designed to engage in a corresponding number of ports (blocking points) formed on the strike plate section 2 (multi-point locking). Furthermore, it is proposed, the connection of the strike plate to the mechanism of the lock assembly via a spring allowing -in case of striking- the smooth retraction of said strike plate when engaged with the latch section in the locking position, without breakage or deformation of the lock assembly. |
