The reference voltage source uses a bipolar transistor (Q) and a Schottky diode (D) coupled at its anode to the transistor base and at its cathode to the transistor collector. The currents (I1,I2) through the Schottky diode and the transistor collector-emitter path are selected so that a reference voltage (V REF) independent of the temperature is obtained at the transistor collector.
